This review provides a comprehensive assessment of the actions Australian councils and communities are taking to tackle climate change, along with the barriers and challenges they face. The nationwide review found many local councils have corporate and community targets as well as strategies to reduce emissions. Published by Beyond Zero Emissions, ICLEI Oceania and Ironbark Sustainability. Imogen is a communication specialist who has provided climate change and sustainability advice to organisations including:

  • - the Australian Conservation Foundation,
  • - the Bureau of Meteorology,
  • - CSIRO and
  • - the Moreland Energy Foundation.

She has published articles in The Age, SBS, Huffington Post and The Fifth Estate, worked as television presenter and script writer for the ABC and co-authored reports with some of Australia’s leading climate-change scientists.

She is an elected Board Member of Climate for Change is passionate about strategies that will work our way to a sustainable world and recently ran as an independent for Moreland City Council.

Ironbark Sustainability

Alexi has been at Ironbark Sustainability since 2009. He works with councils on range of energy efficiency and renewable projects. He brings decades of experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, facilitation and program development in the sustainability field since co-founding the Environmental Jobs Network (EJN) in 2001. Alexi managed ICLEI Oceania's flagship Cities for Climate Protection (CCP) campaign in Australia until mid-2008, building the capacity of Local Government and communities to tackle climate change. 

Alexi has managed hundreds of energy efficient asset management programs local governments throughout Australia and worked on the development and creation of the Australian One Planet Councils to assist councils in assessing their sustainability performance against a range of indicators. Since 2013, Alexi has managed a project team that has obtained over $100m of government funding and third-party finance for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects throughout Australia.
